A delicious winter treat

Cafe du Monde wasn’t too crowded post-parade.  So we stopped to enjoy beignets and café au lait.  I rarely make it to Cafe du Monde – it may have even been more than a year since I had beignets!  It’s fun to play tourist in my own town!

I love playing tourist in my hometown too! And then I always surprise my husband when I know all the short cuts. ;)
Those beignets look delicious! I haven’t tried one yet, but I will try to find some. If not, it will be something to try when we visit New Orleans. :-)

  2. Always our first stop when we hit NOLA.

Lovely to be back on the streets of NOLA with you!

  5. That brings back some lovely memories from when I was in NOLA!
Tip: don’t wear black while eating those beignets! :)

I am not big on sweets but recently I opted to try beignetsbeignets at a local restaurant that serves New Orleans style food. I remember seeing them everywhere while visiting your fabulous city so I tried one here. And wow, they are delicious! Next time I visit NO I will have one or several there. Makes me wish I had just tried them while I was down there :-)

Now you’ve got me drooling. I think Cafe du Monde is the only place in the world so far where I’ve actually enjoyed coffee. I’m not usually a coffee drinker, but since it seemed part of the experience, I went with it. The beignets were tasty, and I had a fun time making a mess of myself with all that powdered sugar. :)

Josh here from the BlinkPack blog. I just went to New Orleans for beignets, among a few other things. I wish you all the best with your blogging. Cheers!
