Cafe du Monde wasn’t too crowded post-parade. So we stopped to enjoy beignets and café au lait. I rarely make it to Cafe du Monde – it may have even been more than a year since I had beignets! It’s fun to play tourist in my own town!

I love playing tourist in my hometown too! And then I always surprise my husband when I know all the short cuts.
Those beignets look delicious! I haven’t tried one yet, but I will try to find some. If not, it will be something to try when we visit New Orleans.
They are yummy!
Always our first stop when we hit NOLA.
Love that! When are you coming?
I am so jealous right now – ha! YUM!!!
YUM!
Absolutely!
Lovely to be back on the streets of NOLA with you!
Aww – thank you!
That brings back some lovely memories from when I was in NOLA!
Tip: don’t wear black while eating those beignets!
Very true, Jackie!
Looks so delicious!!
Yes – they are!
I am not big on sweets but recently I opted to try beignetsbeignets at a local restaurant that serves New Orleans style food. I remember seeing them everywhere while visiting your fabulous city so I tried one here. And wow, they are delicious! Next time I visit NO I will have one or several there. Makes me wish I had just tried them while I was down there
Glad you ended up liking them!
i love beignets in NOLA. I don’t think they taste as good anywhere else…
This may be true!
Now you’ve got me drooling. I think Cafe du Monde is the only place in the world so far where I’ve actually enjoyed coffee. I’m not usually a coffee drinker, but since it seemed part of the experience, I went with it. The beignets were tasty, and I had a fun time making a mess of myself with all that powdered sugar.
Yes! It’s a special treat to go to Cafe du Monde, and I enjoy the coffee there too, even thought I’m not a coffee drinker!
Josh here from the BlinkPack blog. I just went to New Orleans for beignets, among a few other things. I wish you all the best with your blogging. Cheers!
Thanks, Josh!
