NOLA love #6: nearby creeks for summer relaxing

Living in New Orleans means that in just a bit over an hour’s drive, I can be flattening my brain waves lazing in a beautiful sandy edged gravel bottomed cool creek, with dragonflies hovering, birds singing and water burbling.  Picnicking on the beach is a must.  Napping in the shade too.  And exploring, soaking, floating, balancing, and playing.  Ahhhhh.

Love that place! Spent an afternoon there when I was thru hiking the Appalachian Trail! A little more crowded, at least the part I saw – lots of picnickers and a great pool and snack bar too – but I sat by the creek with my feet in it for about 30 minutes while I chatted with my husband. And I had ice cream too! Happy memories!

  3. What I want to know is how you took that shot without falling, which is surely what would’ve happened to me.

  4. Great Photo – love putting my feet in water:)
