Summer treat #25- bicycling and wine

I adore summer nights in New Orleans.  We rode our bicycles downtown around sunset- we got stopped under the I-10 bridge and had to wait for the Presidential Motorcade! Our destination was W.I.N.O. – the Wine Institute of New Orleans – a fabulous wine bar that has wine “vending machines” where you can buy a taste or a glass of scores of different wines.  I’m scoping the place out for a cool event I’m hosting in August.  Very excited! We each tasted four or five different wines and snacked on cheeses, tapenades and hummus.

People in the Warehouse District were dining al fresco or strolling past galleries, and jasmine blooms scented the warm night air. On way home through the Garden District we rode side by side, enjoying the path through moonlit trees and taking our time on the quiet streets.

Definitely a summer treat!

That place sounds fantastic; what a great idea! With a name like “WINO”, how can they go wrong, really?
