We didn’t eat on a blanket on the ground, but we had picnic food. We never have hot dogs except maybe once or twice in the summer. I broiled the hot dogs and some baby red peppers and squash from the farmers’ market and prepared some baked beans. Topped off the meal with salt and vinegar chips and a NOLA blonde ale. It was well after 11 when we sat down to eat, and I don’t remember the details of our dinner conversation, but we laughed and laughed! That’s a treat – a happy late night meal of summer food with my sweetheart.

*AWESOME*
Thanks!
Boy that plate brings back memories of volunteer days at Camp Shiloh in the Catskills 20 year back when after a sweaty morning of fixing up the cabins in prep for the kids, the inner-city folk would arrive with plates of what you guys call, pork & beans, rolls, sausages and other picnic delectables. Midnight picnic…very romantic in a happy relaxed you my best friend too, sort of way.
Yum! I went to camp in the Catskills too!
Lip Smacking Yum:) Enjoy Your Weekend!
Thank you! You too!
Definitely summer food. Though I’m asleep at 11, not eating.
It’s so easy for me to be a night owl. I love early morning, but I’m terrible about getting up early unless I have to…
