Summer treat #3

It’s a beautiful blue pool. It’s five minutes away by car, ten by bike.  It’s utterly and completely free.  In one hour, I can toss on my swimsuit, zip to the pool, take a refreshing dip (but not cold- the water is warm from days in the 90s and nights in the 80s), swim a dozen or so laps, hop out, come home, and shower off.  I get a perfect serving of summery poolness -the sound of kids laughing and splashing in intervals mixed with the meditative blue quiet when my head’s in the water. The chlorine smell takes me back to childhood days at the community pool – all that’s missing are the snack bar fries, Italian ices and frozen Marathon bars. Pool time is definitely a summer treat.

Just catching up on the last few weeks of your blog – your trip out west sounded amazing! Loved the slideshow. And this pool is so tempting – my dollar general 4 foot wide plastic bin is nothing in comparison. Swim a lap or two for me!

This sounds like a great pool!

It is – it’s been rainy and less pool-like for the past couple of days, but when it gets sunny and steamy again I’m headed over there! :)
