Little tomatoes

Delicious, mild, tiny pale yellow heirlooms.  Grown from seeds of a few farmers’ market tomatoes that had gone mushy.  What is it about growing your own fruits and veggies that is so absolutely magical?

  1. Lovely shot ! Truly amazing! =)

  2. Hi Carla, it is certainly magical growing your own veg, but sometimes an uphill challenge. Your toms look great!

Thanks, Piglet! I think the mockingbirds, blue jays and our resident box turtle get about half our crop, but we don’t mind sharing! :)

Nice. I often eat red tomatoes. I would like to try to eat yellow ones.

Home grown produce is absolutely the best. I’m proud of you!

My sweetheart used to grow a whole lot of fruits and veggies back before we lived in NOLA, and recently we’ve been sticking more with just the citrus trees (plus guava and banana) but tossed some pepper plants and tomato plants out this year. And it has been nice! We used to have tons of blackberries, but the yard is constantly evolving and now it’s too shady where they used to be, and something different grows there…

Our tomatoes were a disaster last year. I learned later that many people in our ares had poor results. When in doubt blame it on climate change. I associate climate change with our present governing party (Hard Nosed Harper), so I have the satisfaction of blaming the tomato harvest on the current Prime Minister. :D

There’s all kinds of change, that’s for sure! Learning to be more present with change and not fight it… that’s always something to learn! And something I think I need to learn more as I get older! :)
