The anise is blooming. Extra-cool because it’s a native plant. My friend’s land in Mississippi is carpeted with these beautiful shrubs. I think I need to get out there soon. Making a mental plan right now!

Have just been stomping through the forests of Hogsback, a mountainous area two hours north of us and one of the few places that gets regular seasonal snow in South Africa (In July). The paths are full of delicate flowers which we don’t get by the coast – so refreshing for the soul just like your picture.
