Indulge in this view of the excessive amounts of throws we received this Carnival season. Most will be donated to the Arc of Greater New Orleans, who repackage and resell beads and throws so that they can be enjoyed again. My sweetheart is mailing the ones in the box to his mom. My mom took home her own stash of Mardi Gras swag, and left most of it behind for us.
So what’s in the photo? Beads, obviously. But also a stuffed poodle purse, a stuffed bowling pin, a stuffed elephant and crawfish, light up head gear, a pink Muses “spa wrap” head thingee, about 1/10 of the cups we caught, Muses band aids, a frisbee (we gave away all the footballs), flowers from the walking clubs, red light up Muses shoe pins (my sweetheart caught a whole bag of them), a purse from Nyx and two shoes from Muses, plus a Zulu coconut! My first one from a stranger on a float since 1993! Very special!
Not pictured: A spear and a boa from Thoth, assorted other light up beads and goodies, and a few other items that didn’t make it into the pile. Like doubloons – large metal coins that some people collect, and a couple of cool Muses pens. Hope you enjoyed the indulgence!
