I still can’t quite figure out how to fit in my holiday activities along with blogging – it seems that sometimes if I have some free time, napping trumps blogging. Clearly, I have my priorities in order!
Anyway, on Friday, I met a dear friend in the French Quarter and we went to the Roosevelt Hotel for lunch. We ate at Teddy’s Cafe, a cute yet sophisticated place to get everything from sweets and coffee to a full lunch. And it looks out over the main hall of the hotel, which is decorated with branches dripping with white lights. And there were carolers!
If you live in New Orleans, it’s worth stopping by Teddy’s in the Roosevelt to see the whimsical gingerbread village, complete with renditions of many well-loved New Orleans landmarks. There’s the Camellia Grill . . .
Pascal’s Manale,
Commander’s Palace,
Jaque-Imo’s,
And Creole Creamery!
. . .with Mr. Bingle floating in front – see him?
We had a lovely, relaxing lunch – the café was quiet and the oyster salad and grown-up grilled cheese are both delicious! While we were there they were trading the breakfast pastries in the case for beautiful chocolate truffles, so it’s a great place to have a coffee or tea and have something sweet too. If you need a holiday treat, I highly recommend it.

Wow! These are beautiful photos… I read your first paragraph and thought, “Yep, that is my struggle too…” I haven’t forgotten you either. I have been swamped and sick… Naps and health matters win. I still have all your posts in my email and will respond to them and many, many others soon. You are not alone dear one.
Happy Holidays!
Hi Elizabeth! Hope you are feeling better soon! I will stop by Mirth and Motivation in the next few days as well – I’ve missed you!
Wow Carla, that’s really cool! I love all the decorations at Christmastime … I wish they’d leave some of them up all year.
Have a wonderful holiday season hun!
Thank you! You too!
These are beautiful pictures! I love it last year when I was at NOLA. Have to come back soon to visit again. Happy Holidays!
Glad you had a great visit and yes, come back soon!
