Fantabulous Fridays part II: Murmuration

Here’s a little lagniappe post (lagniappe means something extra in Louisianese or Cajun or something) just in case you missed this video that’s gone viral.  It is so worth a click.

As I watch the much smaller flocks of sparrows, pigeons, etc. move through the air in the neighborhood, I see them creating the same patterns, albeit much, much smaller.

This beautiful video was shot in Ireland by Liberty Smith and Sophie Windsor Clive.  Lovely!

Please enjoy and happy Friday!

That’s really cool Carla! Thanks for sharing it. :)

I always find it amazing how birds use air pressure and energy fields to fly in huge flocks without running into each other.

Wow. There are many sparrows. I enjoyed it.

I am often in awe of how the birds swirl around like that without crashing into each other. Amazing. :)

Wow! I’d never seen anything like that in person or on video. Thank you for sharing. It was a pleasure to be part of that amazing experience.

I hope in a good way! :) I’ve seen very very small versions of this – not with so many birds – I love to see them flocking and moving and shifting through the air!
