April is jasmine season in New Orleans.
It seems that every surface is coated in the deliciously fragrant white flowers. You can’t turn a corner without running into another wall, telephone pole, fence or archway covered in jasmine. And it is fantabulous.
Happy Earth Day! If you live here, go outside and breathe in the jasmine! If you’re far away, go outside and enjoy the plants and animals in your neighborhood, even if it’s raining. Walking in the rain is magical.
Off to breathe in the jasmine . .

Stunning photo’s in Orleans. Wow, I had no idea how pretty nature is. In Chicago, IL it’s like cold and winterY and it’s the end of APRIL. UGH wish I was there.
Thanks Jackie! Well, spring will be coming to you soon, and then you’ll have gorgeous weather in summer while we swelter . . . but glad you’re enjoying my photos in the meantime!
So beautiful! I love jasmine and had no idea that april is the season for them! i have to visit nola in april next time… i also love gardenia, plumeria, and tea roses amongst other flowers…lol.
Yes, all the ones you mention smell so good!
It looks beautiful! Nothing much is out yet, here. Grass is starting to turn green, there are little buds on the bushes, but the temperature tonight is 35º. April in Maine. I have jasmine envy!
Brr! I don’t think I’d make it through a New England winter! Glad you’re seeing the little buds now!
Breathing in the jasmine sounds delicious! I love jasmine and the way it delicately flavors teas and rice. I love that amazing shrub above. How many years did that take? Wow.
Glad to connect and thank you for stopping by my blog.

I’m not sure how long the different vines took to grow, but we have an archway over our gate that’s covered in jasmine and it grows fast! In a couple of years you can have a pretty good sized wall or arch covering.
